Additions:
Leonie: More, more, more... you need to build us up a bit.... let us slightly transition into your story. Give your show some sort of leader. I would also suggest you let your MC (they guy or gal hosting the chat) see the video first so he/she can live translate more easily. For the distant viewer, we were only just understanding what was happening and then it was over. I tried to make a screenshot but it ended before I could document it. Remember reality TV is frequently prolonged in terms of time. Lot's of sitting, hanging out until there is an explosion. In fact the boredom is what makes the bouts of temper tantrums all the more entertaining. To flow into your next program, maybe think about ed*ting today's video into a trailer for Thursday...cre*te a suspenseful build up or flow into the next show.

Sauli: I would make your mixes run longer and work with a double screen. You could do one where you screencast so the viewer has a crisp clear image of what you're mixing and another where we see you as the DJ filtering. Making it a double stream or split screen (not sure how possible that is) would really enliven the project for those not present in the room. If you cannot make a double screen, then slightly slow it down. The screen mediated through stream and screen again, is tiny and a bit hard to read at a fast pace. I would also get more radical with the way you filter. At the moment there is a sense that they have had a similar treatment. Experiment and play with it :-)

Serena: I thoroughly enjoyed your piece. Although I found it difficult to connect to the website itself, as a performance, it was stunningly beautiful....compelling in a way that I had not imagined. The Fossett image flickered like an 8mm film and the mix of accents and voices was enthralling. Look into the chat transcript to see how we talked about your work while it was happening. Annemieke also made some very good observations in the chat.

Okay on a general note:

The project as a whole needs to be introduced by some sort of MC not just in terms of chat but on camera. And then each individual project needs an introduction. Remember, you are all in the room, you know what is happening, but for us folks just tuning in online, suddenly there is something being streamed, and we have to quickly acclimatize to whatever work we are seeing.

Use the gaps in between... maybe you guys can show trailers. Leonie you could even show your Youtube intro or have an in between vote on the puppets the public hates or loves. But whatever you do keep the pace vibrant. The music was good (Sauli excellent choices on sound and announcers of times was also handy) but work with visuals too.... things that transition between the works. You all have some pieces that might be good to stream in between. Whatever you do...work it baby ;-)

Last but not least, do not forget your audience at the end of the broadcast. I remember when De Geuzen did its first stream, one of our audience members wrote and said: I just felt cut off when you ended the stream. Now, being on the other end, I better understand what she meant. You need to close off the streaming with some sort of communicative signal, ...not just in the chat but also good to thank your audience for being there. On Thursday you can even remind them of what will be streamed on Friday and ask them to tune in again. On a technical note, when you're cutting the stream, don't forget the delay. Remember, by the time you all are saying: whew that's over, we are still watching the stream.

Laterally, I wondered if the other projects should be announced in some way via the stream. You've got this open channel and you can use it.... i.e.. Dennis, Timo, Stephanie and Alex, you could steal a little air time to give a brief description of your projects and remind people of when and where the "live" event will take place.

Femke's comments on Thursday 13 broadcast

- it makes all the difference your broadcast was continuous. totally
impressed.

- breaks in-between: to have a dj = very very nice. works to know you have a good time there and me too. still images in between are technically great; strange is that i loose my sense of being live connected; when you put a camera on screen or something in between i feel i stay in the room. also maybe because the image does not change.

- the adventurer: the flickering still image of fosset we got by accident on tuesday worked much better for me; switching to camera breaks the concentration and my imagination of what is going on. bell is great; text works beautifully.

- etherman: story got even more exciting with glitches - ended up a bit nauseous from your scrolling ;-) great to see people contributing to the site.

- kartonnen doos: supershortness works well and adds an absurdist edge though last episode was almost too blurry to get what was going on; pity there was no way i could get that you were live performing, only when i discovered your set up somewhere in the background.

- spam wham: camerawork worked well + did the job (besides interfering with the stream?) and also your subtle fingerwork. site is a bit difficult right now in sense of what you give me and who my contributions end up... technically i could paste anything in that box? do you plan to make the messages from the site visibly part of your dj set?

- the project i thought...: i enjoyed intro + visual presence and most of all the way you made the network sound. the second piece worked out wonderfully; on the receiving side with some extra glitches even more thrilling. wondered how your fellow bandmembers could have been more present.
